DESCRIPTION: For your pleasure offered here is a great old hand braided rawhide and calfskin bridle that is possibly Prison made. It is a round braided two tone design with wonderful braided knots. It has long (5 foot 9 inches) hand braided split reins with leather poppers and rein chains. This headstall also has a San Jose style Kissing Bird bit on it. This is a good looking old bridle.
MAKER: Unknown, possibly prison made.
APPROX AGE: Circa first half 1900s.
SIZE: Bit has a 4-3/4 inch mouth piece and is 6-3/4 inches long overall. The headstall is a standard medium to large horse size and has some adjustment.
CONDITION: Pretty good for its age, normal wear expected on the headstall and please note the bit has been "worked" on. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
