DESCRIPTION: For your consideration here is a rare old bit with a "Snake" pattern on the shanks and it has a grazing port mouth. This is a No. 5, snake pattern bit as offered in the old McChesney catalogs. J R McChesney, a well known bit and spur maker who made spurs in Texas and Oklahoma.
MAKER: Attrib. J R McChesney (1867-1928).
APPROX AGE: Antique, early 1900s.
SIZE: It has a 5 inch mouth piece. It is 5 1/2 inches long overall.
