Offered here for your consideration is a wonderful antique figural Apache basket. The Apache people were known as superior basket makers after learning new techniques from the Yavapai during the late 1800s which they quickly adopted and adapted. Apache baskets are striking with strong contrast in color and bold geometric or pictorial (less common) motifs. They are on a three rod foundation with willow and Devil's Claw (for contrast). These baskets are highly sought after and getting harder to find. This basket features a five point star design and various designs on the sides of the basket with deer figures between the rows. This is a great example of a traditional Apache basket that would look great in your collection, so bid now!
