Available here for your consideration is a vintage Canon City Prison bit with typical leaf and vine engraving. This iron horse bit features engraved silver overlay on the cheeks, showcasing fine detail and craftsmanship. The shanks are accented with domed conchos, while the mouthpiece includes a cricket. It has a slobber bar which is slightly bent out of shape and rein rings. Believed to have been made at the Canon City Prison in Colorado between 1900 and 1950, pieces like this are highly regarded for their distinctive craftsmanship and decorative style.
