Offered in this lot is a cotton themed bolo tie by multiple award winning artist Kenneth Begay. This slide has a great cotton boll shape with hand stamped and textured designs. The slide is on a black braided cord with silver tips ending in silver beads. This bolo would look great in your collection or on your favorite shirt!
MAKER: Hallmarked KB with White Hogan mark (stamped). Kenneth Begay (1913 or 1914 to 1977; Navajo). Active from the 1940s to 1977. Begay was considered the "the father of modern Navajo jewelry", and was a partner in the White Hogan shop where he started working in 1946. Begay was a multiple award winner.
APPROX AGE: Vintage (meaning somewhere between the 1930s to 1970s).
SIZE: The leather cord measures 48 inches overall including the tips. The slide measures 2 1/4 inches long by 2 inches wide, and the tips measure 2 1/4 inches long. The total weight for this item is 37.6 grams (with most of the cord off the scale).
