DESCRIPTION: For your consideration here is a pair of Elmer Miller handmade spurs. These spurs are single mounted with silver inlays on the top and outer portion of the heel band and shanks. They still have their heel chains and original handmade 20 point rowels on shanks with a fancy turned up chap guard. They come with nice, hand tooled leather spurs straps with large, nicely engraved conchos (unknown maker). Elmer Miller (1914-1992) was born in Nevada and was raised on his father’s cattle ranch. In the 1940s he moved to San Francisco and formed a partnership with Al Tietjen making bits and spurs and they worked together until 1951, when Tietjen left and Miller then returned to Paradise Valley, Nevada where he resided until the early 1960s. He then moved to Nampa, Idaho and in 1986 Elmer started his bit and spur making school, mentoring some of the most well-known contemporary makers.
