Offered here for your consideration is a highly detailed miniature (1:20) scale stage coach scene carved by master craftsman Oscar M. Cortes. This piece features a Wells Fargo & Co. Overland Mail stagecoach drawn by six horses. Three cowboys ride atop the coach, guarding the valuable cargo. The coach includes fully functional doors and brakes. It is mounted on a sturdy wooden base. The carving is executed at a 1:20 scale, a size commonly used throughout the artist’s work. Oscar created carvings for over 60 years alongside his family in Quail Valley, California, using hardwoods, leather and metal to bring his pieces to life. *Note - no in-house shipping. Options include local pick up at our location in Wickenburg, AZ, or specialty shipper or courier can pick up.
MAKER: Oscar M Cortes (signed). Oscar Manuel Cortes (1929 - 2015).
APPROX AGE: Dated 1983.
SIZE: The base measures approximately 51 inches long by 11 inches wide. It is approximately 13 1/2 inches tall at highest point. 
CONDITION: Fair for its age with normal wear and minor imperfections expected - like some of the leather that holds the double trees in place is brittle or broken and one of the horses leans a bit to the right and could be re-glued. Outside of a few minor imperfections, it reamins in good shape. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
HANDLING: There will be a $25 handling fee for taking this item to the specialty shipper of your choice within 50 miles of Wickenburg, Arizona. No handling fee for local pick up or courier.
