This is a PHENOMENAL 1950s squash blossom necklace! This great necklace has unique cluster style blossoms with four petals and is set with exquisite turquoise cabochons. A lot of pride went into the handmade beads and workmanship of this piece. For durability it has been strung on a foxtail chain. It's sterling silver and has a nice weight to it. Some fun history on the squash blossom necklace; The Navajo are believed to be the first tribe to begin using the Squash Blossom design around the 1870s. By the turn of the 20th century, several other surrounding tribes had adopted the design as well.
