*SOLD* For your consideration in this lot is a great hand-forged Bowie knife from the Civil War era.  This Bowie is 13 inches overall with a 8 3/4 inch blade.  It sports a brass guard and pins.  A previous owner has engraved "27", "Texas", and "1863" in the wood handles. (Possibly the 27th Regiment?)  Additionally, he put the famous five point Texas star on the left side of the grip panel.  Included in this auction is a fabulous belt and holster rig that the knife came in.  The holster is in the style of leather that would have housed a Colt style Army revolver.  It is nicely tooled and has an ages old repair done which appears to have been done to increase the holster length  There is also an adjustable belt that accompanies the holster turned sheath.  On that belt is a civil war Union Officer's Eagle Sword Belt Buckle.  It alone is worth adding to your collection but as a group these items have a story to tell we may never know.  Just think, a confederate regiment Bowie knife with a Union Officer's belt buckle...just how did that come to pass?  Add this to your collection and ponder the possibilities or do the research!
