Pancho Villa’s real name was Doroteo Arango. He started using an alias while on the run from Federales during his years as a bandit—before he became the famous Mexican Revolutionary leader the world knows of today. This knife has come down through a well-known collection where other Pancho Villa items have also been documented and sold over the years. Supporting documentation and a magazine article on the history is included (a copy can be emailed on request). This bowie style knife, with presentation box, is being sold as a donation to support 2 victims from the incident at the Gilroy Garlic festival on 7-28-19. Maker: The knife is not hallmarked, but it is hand-forged. The box is also handmade. Both items were made by skilled tradesman.
Approx. Age: Circa late 1800s or early 1900s.
Size: The knife is just over 10” long with just under a 6” blade. The box measures 15 1/2” long and 5” wide.
