DESCRIPTION: For your consideration is this tantalizing carved turquoise concho belt by the well-known husband and wife team of Robert and Bernice Leekya. This stunning belt is set with carved turquoise stones on each concho and the buckle. It has beautiful silver work, such as silver drops, twisted wire, and silver plates which really accentuate the stones. It also has nice file work on the edges of the conchos and buckle. There is a good weight to it and it is on a supple black leather belt. Hallmarked by the artists and stamped as being sterling silver.
MAKER: Marked RLB for Robert and Bernice Leekya (Zuni). Active since 1960s.
APPROX AGE: Circa 1970s.
SIZE: 34-1/2 inches long overall. Conchos measures 2-1/2 inches wide X 1-3/4 inches tall. Buckle is 3 inches wide X 2 inches tall. Weighs 466 grams.
