Available here for your consideration is a vintage fancy pair of California style spurs with leather spur straps. These single mounted spurs display nice iron work. They have 14 point rowels on turned down shanks with chap guards. The heel bands are decorated with engraved silver buttons and the shanks with a plate of incised silver along the entire length. The rowels are partially covered by an incised silver plate. The leather is nicely decorated with carved designs of leaves and a large silver concho incised with floral designs. Original heel chains included! A very nice set of vintage of spurs for your collection!
The history of bits and spurs in North America begins with the Spanish who first came to the new world in the 1500s, bringing horses and livestock with them. The Spanish colonial style is the predecessor of the Californian and Mexican styles we know today and these show that influence.

SIZE: The heel openings measure 3 inches, the band width measures 7/8 inches and the shanks measure 3 1/8 inches long overall.
