DESCRIPTION: For your review is a vintage turquoise cluster manta pin. This gorgeous pin features a cluster of petit point and dot turquoise cabochons in handmade sawtooth bezels. The settings are accented with silverwork of twisted wire and dots.  Manta pins were used as a shoulder closure for the Pueblo dress or shawl called a "Manta." Many of the Pueblo tribes wore these and some had slight variations in design. These pins started to disappear as the style of dress began to change and the need for them went to the way side. They are largely used as a brooch now.
