Description: Look at this wonderful bridle! If it looks familiar, it's because it is published on P. 182 of the Horsehair Bridles book by Ned and Jody Martin. It's a great hand braided headstall and bit by the well know braider, Alex Pappas. The leather is very soft and supple like kangaroo or calfskin leather. The hitched horsehair is done in several colors and accented with many well executed knots. It has long (7 foot) hand braided split reins with poppers and the bridle buckles on the headstall are marked as being sterling. The conchos on the bridle match the bit. The bit is a rare piece by Alex Pappas (he hardly ever makes them and in the book, it says only 14 at that time).  It has silver overlays with the four card suite signs cut out in the silver design and the conchos have matching horse head themes like the headstall.  This is a very good looking headstall, reins and bit, all by the same artist. The bit is hallmarked.

Maker: Stamped, A.L. Pappas (Alex Pappas).

Approx Age: Marked as being, Jan 1993.

Size: The bit has a 5 inch mouth piece and is  8-1/2 inches long overall. The headstall is adjustable and fits most average sized horses.

Condition: Very good, it has mainly been displayed in one collection for many years, so minimal wear with a few minor imperfections expected.
Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description.
