Description: This is an elegant vintage Zuni style squash blossom necklace. It has beautiful bright blue, diamond cut turquoise cabochons (that are starting to darken do to the age of the piece). The settings are accented with very simple and lovely silverwork throughout. It also has handmade beads and is strung on coated cable. It is sterling silver with a nice length and weigh to it. Some fun history on the squash blossom necklace; The Navajo are believed to be the first tribe to begin using the Squash Blossom design around the 1870s. By the turn of the 20th century, several other surrounding tribes had adopted the design as well.
