MAKER: Dave McGary (1958-2013; Anglo/adopted into the Ogala Sioux and named Wambalee Tanka, "Big Eagle.") He is praised for the anatomical and historical accuracy of his pieces which are based on real people in American history. He spent a year in Italy studying the art of bronze casting in the human form after receiving a scholarship at the age of 16.
