DESCRIPTION: For your review is a nice older and larger size manta pin. This stunning piece features a cluster of old, natural turquoise cabochons with varying shades blue-green (due to aging and being natural). They are accented by silverwork of twisted wire and hoops, making it appear almost in a flower like shape. Manta pins were used as a shoulder closure for the Pueblo dress or shawl called a "Manta." Many of the Pueblo tribes wore these and some had slight variations in design. These pins started to disappear as the style of dress began to change and the need for them went to the way side. They are largely used as a brooch now.

MAKER: Unmarked (Unknown).

APPROX AGE: Circa 1950s.

SIZE: This pin measures 3-5/8 inches all around, and weighs a total of 90.2 grams.

CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
