Available here is an inlaid pair of California style spurs with nice straps. These spurs are single mounted but the iron of the inside of the shank displays a chased design also. A silver button is centered in the heel band with inlaid silver designs on each side. The shanks terminate in 10 point handmade rowels and have a chap guard. Heel chains are present from the chain hangers, and the floral carved leather straps are accented by silver conchos. An eye catching pair of spurs!
The history of bits and spurs in North America begins with the Spanish who first came to the new world in the 1500s, bringing horses and livestock with them. The Spanish colonial style is the predecessor of the Californian and Mexican styles we know today. These spurs are fine examples of that heritage.
