Available here for your consideration is a nice Qualey Brothers Globe Bit. This expertly made bit features large "globes" as the rein holders and smaller "globes" as the bridle rings. The sides are mounted with silver having an engraved floral design, encircled by a stamped zigzag edge design.
Nels and Tom Qualey (aka Qualey Bros) grew up in Idaho and learned general black-smithing as well as bit and spur making while quite young. Tom and Nels made bits and spurs in their spare time away from working the ranch for around 20 years starting sometime in the 1920s. In 1942 the family sold the ranch and Nels stopped making bits and spurs, while Tom Qualey moved to Cottonwood, Idaho where he continued crafting bits and spurs which were sold through local shops. Qualey bits and spurs are well-made, not plentiful, and highly sought after by many collectors. Make your bid on this fine bit today!
