Offered here for your consideration is a rare gal or lady leg theme bit by Buermann. Of course the featured design is the gal leg and that consists of a profile of gal's leg in fishnet stockings along the shanks of the bit. The gal's hip is an incised brass applique and the rest of her leg is depicted by a nicely worked silver applique. The Buermann company was one of the first to mass-produce spurs and bits and was adept at keeping pace with the changing styles and tastes of the day. This is a design you don't see very often however!
