DESCRIPTION: Presented for your consideration is a rare pair of distinctive California spurs by the Tapia's. These great spurs are uniquely stylistic with curves and silver inlays. They have heel chains and period correct basket stamped spur leathers with great high domed and scalloped conchos. Jose Tapia didn't mark his work and Jesus Tapia marked very few of the pieces. However the quality of their work is easily recognized by knowledgeable collectors and this very pair of spurs was featured in a High Noon catalog several years back (see pics).

MAKER: Unmarked but attributed to Jose Tapia (1831-1902) or Jesus Tapia (1856-1931).

APPROX AGE: Circa 1890s - 1910.

SIZE: Heel opening is 3 inches. Heel bands are 1-1/4 at the widest point. Shanks are 2-1/2 long including the rowels./

CONDITION: Good for their age, normal wear expected and please note the leathers are fragile. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
