Offered in this lot is a Thunderbird Shop turquoise bolo tie by Frank Patania Sr. This slide has turquoise cabochons resting in handmade sawtooth bezels on a darkened silver background with a smooth silver edge. MAKER: Stamped FP conjoined with a Thunderbird symbol. Frank Patania Sr. (1899-1964; Anglo). Patania opened his Santa Fe-based Thunderbird Curios shop in 1927. He is referred to as a "William Spratling of the American Southwest". 
APPROX AGE: Vintage (meaning somewhere between the 1930s to 1970s). 
SIZE: The leather cord measures 36 inches overall including the tips. The slide measures 2 inches long by 1 3/4 inches wide, and the tips measure 2 1/4 inches long. The total weight for this item is 43.2 grams (with most of the cord off the scale).
