DESCRIPTION: Presented here is a great old San Jose "Kissing Birds" style bit with engraving and style which strongly suggest it was made by the one of the Hernandez. Research suggests there were 5 Hernandez who made bits and spurs which were sold through various retailers such as Visalia, Main and Winchester, F.M. Stern and L.D. Stone. They were rarely marked. This is a nice old half breed bit for your collection.
MAKER: Unmarked, but attributed to Hernandez.
APPROX AGE: Circa late 1800s to early 1900s.
SIZE: It has a 4-3/4 inch mouth piece. Over all it measures 6-3/4 inches.
