What type of items do we look for and specialize in?
The one-liner is: Vintage and antique Western Americana.
How do we define this?
- Items commonly found in the West prior to the 1950s, and modern collectible versions thereof.
- Our primary interest lies in the era from about the 1850s to 1950s, including items associated with:
- The American Cowboy
- Frontiersman/Pioneers
- Native Americans
- Mexican/Spanish cultures associated with the Southwest
- Specific examples of items:
- Bits, spurs, and other related equine gear
- Weaponry
- Old photographs and ephemera
- Militaria
- Native American jewelry, basketry, textiles, pottery, etc.
- Gold and Silver (coins, bullion, etc.)
- Vintage and contemporary versions of many of these types of items are highly sought after as well. Examples include:
- Turquoise jewelry
- Bits and spurs
- Artwork
- High-quality, modern versions of Western collectibles
- Additional items of interest:
- Artifacts from the mountain man and revolutionary war eras
- Spanish colonial era items associated with the Southwest
- Historic or prehistoric artifacts
Items not in our area of specialized interest include:
- Fake reproductions of collectibles meant to deceive or made for the tourist market
- Low-quality or inexpensive items typically valued under a couple hundred dollars (except possibly when grouped together as a lot)
- Most other items outside our specialized area interest that are not Western and Native Americana type items are not of interest. Items such as household goods and common decor. Electronics. Mass produced items. Glassware (expect very few select embossed items dating to pre-1900).
To sum it up, we are a Western Collectibles auction house and gallery, and make it our business to be specialized in this area of expertise.
