DESCRIPTION: Presented for sale in this lot is a charming needlepoint squash blossom necklace. This is a great vintage necklace, set with "needlepoint" cut turquoise stones. Needlepoint is a term referring to when the stone is cut long and slender with a point on each end. The stones have a slight color variation from stone to stone due to age and being natural turquoise. The blossoms have four petals on each, which is generally a sign of a better kind of squash blossom necklace. It features individually handmade beads and is strung on a fine chain for durability. It is sterling silver where it should be.
MAKER: Unmarked, but vintage Zuni by style and design.
APPROX AGE: Circa 1940s-1950s.
SIZE: Measures 23 inches end to end. Pendant measures 2-1/4 inches long X 2-1/8 inches wide. Weighs 95.8 grams.
