Offered here for your consideration is an early 1900s Hupa/Northern California basketry hat with Whirling Logs. These were iconic cultural symbols for the Northwestern tribes of California. Usually woven by the women of the Hupa, Kuruk and Yurok tribes. These are primarily used to protect the persons head while carrying items. The Whirling log pattern was used by many Native American tribes until 1940 representing four directions, good luck, or positive life. This is a rare and quality piece. Make it yours today!
