Available here for your consideration is a early Yei Pictorial Navajo weaving circa 1920-1930s. This is a rare Yei design that features snake motifs. The center showcases four Yei figures with a snake above and below the Yei's. This is surrounded by a geometric pattern on the top and bottom, a red border with grey and white zigzags, and finished with a wide grey border with red butterfly elements. Snakes are considered taboo to the Navajo people and rarely seen in textiles. This weaving is hand carded and hand spun with aniline dyes of red and orange while the rest is all natural wool colors. Make this one of a kind yours.
