DESCRIPTION: Consider this exquisite Dishta squash blossom necklace set with earrings! This vintage Zuni squash blossom necklace and earrings feature the type of elegant design of tiny flush inlaid, natural turquoise circles and teardrops that the Dishta family is renowned for. The early works of Frank Dishta created this style of delicate, perfectly executed channel inlay in patterns of petit point (teardrops) and snake eyes (tiny circles). This absolutely amazing set is sterling silver with gorgeous turquoise inlay and has lovely handmade beads that are strung on a foxtail wire for durability. The earrings feature a design similar to those on the blossoms of the necklace, with the same four petal blossoms that are present on the neck.
MAKER: Attributed to Old Man Dishta or an immediate family member. It is marked with an old shop and owners mark as well (VEXX and Nancy R. Bayfield 1966).
APPROX AGE: Circa 1950s.
SIZE: The necklace measures 25 inches around the neck, and the naja measures 2-3/8 inches long (from top to bottom) x 2-1/4 inches wide. The earrings measure 1-1/2 inches long x 3/4 inch wide. They weigh a total of 119.6 grams.
