DESCRIPTION: Offered here is a vintage turquoise and sterling silver Manta pin. This pin features a cluster of small turquoise cabochons of various shades of green and blue (due to the age and being natural turquoise). They are accented with loops of twisted wire, and beautiful silverwork throughout. The silverwork is accented with cutout designs that add to the beautiful look an design. Manta pins were used as a shoulder closure for the Pueblo dress or shawl called a "Manta." Many of the Pueblo tribes wore these and some had slight variations in design. These pins started to disappear as the style of dress began to change and the need for them went to the way side. They are largely used as a brooch now.

SIZE: This pin measures 2-5/8 inches all around. The total weight for this item is 25.3 grams.

CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
