DESCRIPTION: Here is an early piece of Effie Calabaza's work. This is a sensational bolo tie with Effie C.'s signature snake, set with 5 blue turquoise cabochons in handmade bezels. It is accented with hand stamped designs throughout and the snakes have turquoise dot eyes (classic Effie C. style). This bolo has a nice weighted feel to it and is sterling silver. The cord is braided, black leather with matching turquoise and snakes, sterling silver tips.
MAKER: Hallmarked EFFIE C. Zuni, Effie Calavaza (1928-; Zuni). Active since 1950s.
APPROX AGE: Circa 1960s.
SIZE: Braided cord measures 42 inches long, including tips. Slide measures 3 inches long X 2-1/8 inches wide. Weighs 85.9 grams.
