DESCRIPTION: Available here is a unique Hopi sterling silver tufa cast bracelet. This extraordinary bracelet features a stylized, three dimensional Kachina motif with a turquoise cabochon affixed to the nice tufa cast bracelet. The designs in the tufa, especially the Sunface along the inside of the cuff, are extraordinary and a testament to the artists creativity and dedication. It is stamped sterling and 14K and has a nice weight to it. Tufa stone is a compressed volcanic ash material that is found on the Navajo reservation. It is easier to carve than sandstone and its porous surface leaves a unique texture once the metal has cooled. Tufa casting is a labor-intensive process involving many steps.
