Offered here for your consideration is a vintage Blue Diamond Turquoise and sterling silver squash blossom necklace. The Blue Diamond mine is near Austin, Nevada, and was opened in the 1930s. It is considered a "hat mine" which is a small deposit of turquoise that "you can cover with your hat". This turquoise features a black smoky matrix. This necklace features a crescent shaped naja, highlighted with seven turquoise cabochons resting in smooth silver bezels with a matching turquoise dangle in the center. The settings are surrounded with beautiful silverwork of twisted wire, silver dots, and filework. The neckline is filled with 12 matching blossoms of graduated sizes with matching accents adding character and uniqueness to this piece. Two strands of handmade sterling silver beads conjoined into one strand are strung on a chain for durability and silver findings finish off this necklace nicely.

SIZE: This necklace measures approximately 27 inches from end to end, and the naja measures 3 7/8 inches across (at the widest point) x 3 1/4 inches from top to bottom. The pendant measures 1 inch wide at the widest point x 1 1/2 inches long. The blossoms each measure from 1 5/8 inches to 2 1/4 inches long by from 5/8 inch to 1 1/8 inches wide. The total weight for this item is 259.3 grams.
