Offered here for your consideration is a John H. Kittelson tee pee lamp. This piece features a detailed Plains style tee pee constructed with leather panels decorated with painted motifs including buffalo and feather. The tee pee is further accented with lacing detail along the front seam. Wooden poles extend from the top and are bound together in traditional fashion. The base is trimmed with a row of stone accents and mounted on a round wooden platform. When illuminated, the lamp casts a warm glow through the hide panels, enhancing the painted designs. This unique piece would make a nice addition to any Western or Native American art collection.
MAKER: Has a plaque that reads Made in Wyoming By John H. Kittelson. John H. Kittelson (1930-2018). Western artist known for leather work and wood carvings.
APPROX AGE: Fairly Modern.
SIZE: This lamp measures approximately 13 1/2 inches in diameter x 20 inches tall.
