DESCRIPTION: For your consideration is an antique pair of August Buermann spurs featuring the rarely seen, snake design pattern. They have hand engraved inlays on the "snake" side and the off side has deeply forged patterns in the iron. These great spurs are pattern number 1417 in the old August Buerman catalog, and a similar pair can be seen on page 6 of that publication. They have turned up chap guards with silver mountings and 10 point handmade rowels. The double heel chains appear original. The conchos on the fancy spur straps are believed to be sterling and the straps are pretty old themselves.
MAKER: Spurs are marked with the star hallmark of August Buermann. Straps are not marked as far as we could tell.
APPROX AGE: Circa early 1900s.
SIZE: Heel opening is 3 inches. Bands are 1 inch wide. Shanks are 3 inches long including the rowels
CONDITION: Pretty good for their age, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
