Description: This beaded "skull cracker" has a wood shaft covered in rawhide (parfleche) which is sinew sewn. It is then decorated with beads and a horsehair drop or tassel on the end of the handle. The "business" end is a stone wrapped in the same parfleche and decorated with beads. The handle was also dyed with yellow ocre, much of which still remains.
Maker: Unknown, but attributed as being Plains.
Approx Age: Antique, circa early 1900s.
Size: 2 inches wide X 31 inches long including the horse hair tassel.
Condition: Pretty good for its age. Normal wear and minor imperfections expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description.
