How to Download the Western Trading Post Auction App, Log In, and Register to Bid

Hi and welcome. This short guide shows how to download the Western Trading Post Auction app, create or log in to your account, and register to bid. The video below is an iPhone screen recording of that flow (App Store). On Android, download the same app from Google Play, then follow the same account and register-to-bid steps in the app.

Note: The recording shows an older 2021 auction (including a fixed item count on that sale). Use it for the button flow. Always open the current upcoming auction in the app when you register.

Download the app

On iPhone, open the App Store. On Android, open Google Play.
Search for Western Trading Post Auction.
Download / install, then open the app.

Create an account or log in

Tap the menu (three bars), then Login.
If you already have an account, sign in. If not, tap New? Create Account.
Enter the information requested (name, email, password).
Agree to the Terms and Conditions, then tap Register.
If iOS asks about notifications, choose your preference. Turning notifications on can help you see outbid alerts.

Register to bid on a specific auction

Open Upcoming Sales and select the auction you want (do not rely on an old item count from the video).
Tap Register to Bid.
Enter phone and shipping address when asked, then continue.
Add payment information on file, agree to the terms shown, confirm you are at least 18, and submit registration.
When approved, the app will confirm you can bid on that auction. Then browse lots and place bids as offered for that sale.
