Jerry Cates Heart & Buffalo Theme Spurs

Available here for your consideration are Jerry Cates heart and buffalo theme spurs. These are forged steel spurs with silver overlay on the heel bands and shanks. The overlay features engraved hearts, a bison skull, and other designs. The spurs are adorned with chap guards and 8 point rowels. Accompanying the set is a pair of heavy leather tooled and studded spur straps with an engraved concho and adjustable strap with buckle. These are Texas style spurs and Jerry Cates was well known for this style making over 4500 pairs of spurs and his work is highly collectible.
MAKER: Hallmarked 3248 CATES (stamped). Jerry Cates (1938-2011; Amarillo, TX). Active spur maker 1980-2000s.
APPROX AGE: Fairly Modern.
SIZE: The heel openings measure approximately 3 1/4 inches, the band width measures 1 inch and the shanks measure 2 7/8 inches long with the rowel included.
