John H. Kittleson Cowboy Drinking Coffee Sculpture

Offered here for your consideration is a John H. Kittleson Cowboy Drinking Coffee Sculpture. This polychrome painted wooden sculpture by Kittleson depicts an elderly cowboy with a weathered face, white mustache and a pipe in his mouth. He wears a wide brim hat, denim shirt with a neckerchief, dark vest, chaps, wrist cuffs and boots. Seated in a resting pose, he holds a lasso in one hand and a tin coffee cup in the other. Kittleson, a Western artist known for his wood carvings, saddle making, and horse training, created pieces that are now rare to find in such well-preserved condition.
MAKER: Marked JOHN H. KITTLESON 68 CA. (etched). John H. Kittelson (1930-2018).
APPROX AGE: Dated 1968.
SIZE: This piece measures 11 inches tall x 8 3/4 inches wide x 8 1/4 inches deep.
