Offered here for your consideration is a large Navajo basket with an Eagle pattern and it is by Kee Bitsinne. The coiled basket features a stylized profile of an eagle with its wings outstretched in a dark shade inside a sunburst pattern with rust color rings surrounding. The outer circumference showcases multi-pointed geometric patterns in black all set on a cream color woven design. This is a rare and highly collectible larger sized basket. MAKER: Kee Bitsinnie (1951 - 2023; Navajo). Kee was a highly acclaimed basket weaver from the Navajo Nation. He is noted for revolutionizing the coil techniques along with his sister Betty Rock and the Black family. Bitsinnie is well recognized for his work at The  Natural History Museum, Heard Museum, and Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial.
