DESCRIPTION: Offered here is a neat sterling silver and turquoise Manta pin. This pin features gorgeous petit point turquoise cabochons in handmade sawtooth bezels. The turquoise varies in color due to age and being natural. They are set in a beautiful design on the silver with twisted wire and silver dot accents. Manta pins were used as a shoulder closure for the Pueblo dress or shawl called a "Manta." Many of the Pueblo tribes wore these and some had slight variations in design. These pins started to disappear as the style of dress began to change and the need for them went to the way side. They are largely used as a brooch now.

MAKER: Unmarked (Unknown).

APPROX AGE: Circa 1940s.

SIZE: This pin measures 2-7/8 inches across (left to right), and 1-1/4 inch from top to bottom. The total weight for this item is 14.9 grams.

CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
